Hi

I'm Pakistani married to Thai girl and am staying with her in Thailand. I have a non immigrant type O multiple entry visa which will expire in April and as I read about Thai visa and Laos I found many peoples said in Savannakhet Thai consulate they grant Thai non immigrant type O multiple entry visa and also i read even I'm Pakistani I can go visa run from Chiangmai to Savannakhet because I'm holding Thai visa I did once visa run in Myanmar and it was successful they did not ask for visa I just paid the fee. So I wonder if I can apply for Thai visa in Savannakhet Thai consulate I have every documents for marriage.

Kindly advise
Best regards

Hi Waleed,
Thanks for dropping by.
You maybe able to get Thai visa at the Thai consulate in Laos (Savannakhet if you'd prefer) I'm not sure. However, before you can apply for your Thai visa at the Thai consulate in Laos, you first need to get a Lao visa which you can't get it on arrival because Pakistani passport holders are not entitle to get Lao visa on arrival. So... you need to apply for it at the Lao consulate in Thailand. Once you get the Lao visa on your passport, you can enter Laos at any port of entry (border crossing or airports).

Oh by the way, if you want to cross the border to Savannakhet, you will cross from Mukdahan in Thailand not Chiangmai. From Chiangmai you'll cross to Bokeo province known as Huay Xai in the north of Laos whereas Savannakhet is in the southern part of Laos.
