Share visa extension experience

Hi,

I would like to update your information about visa extensions.

Last week on Monday I went to the office here in Vientiane. It opens at 8:00 but the interior seating area was open about 20 minutes early.

At the first window, they charged 5000 KIP for the application form. This was for a 30 day extension.

After filling out the application they signaled for me to return to the same window. The fee for a 30 day extension was 625,000 KIP ($77).

Then I was signaled to the second window to turn in my form and passport.

I completed this transaction by 8:30. I was given a copy of my passport and they stamped it to show I had paid then I was told to come back 10:30 the next morning.

I asked if I could please get my passport back the same day. They said no. I then told them I could not come at 10:30 and asked to please get it back at 8:00 the next morning. They finally said okay.

There was no one else in the building. I was the only customer. Thank you
