Day bus

Hi, I'll go to Laos in january and I would like to go from Vientiane to Phnom Penh on the road. It is possible to take a bus to Pakse during the day, not in the night? Can you tell me the time table of it? The day after I will go to Phnom Penh.

 Regular bus to Pakse

Hi there,
Yes, it's possible to take a bus to Pakse (from Vientiane) during the day. There are a few regular buses, departing from Morning Market bus station (not the Southern bus station where VIP buses depart). These buses are cheaper, but less comfortable and take longer as they stop more often along the way. For the timetable please check out the state bus website, here http://vcsbe.com/int/. The site is in its infancy stage, thus not as user friendly, but at least it's there and reliable. I depends on it myself to check timetables.

Oh by the way, it looks like the timetable filters out buses that already departed for example if you check the timetable at noon, it will only gives you the list of buses that will depart in the afternoon, other ones departing in the morning will be omit. So you won't get the full timetable if you check it late in the day.
