UK Passport holder, Transit Visa cost & other info.

I'm planning on arriving in Bangkok in late November, and wish to go to Hanoi overland, passing through Laos, (and possibly returning to Laos some months later). Can I get a transit visa at border crossing? If so, how long does it last for, and what is the cost? If not possible, can I get it whilst in Bangkok? Thanks.

Get transit visa at consulate
by: Duangpy

Hi Richard,
Good question, it made me to dig down for an old post I remember answering similar question, and here is the post.
https://www.laos-guide-999.com/how-much-would-i-pay-for-a-laos-transit-visa.html. It's quite old though.

As of now, I heard that it's not possible to get a transit visa on arrival (neither airports nor land border crossing points).

The best way is to get it at the consulate in Bangkok (you will be in Bangkok anyway, it will be worth checking it out while there).

All the best,
